Top 10 Reasons For The Decline Of The Bollywood Industry

The Bollywood industry has made our childhood wonderful with its mind-blowing creative movies like Three Idiots, Tare Zameen Pe, Hera Pheri, etc. All these imprint unforgettable memories in our minds. We laugh, cry, and shout excitedly in these movies.

A wholesome of emotions in a single film. Am I right?
Whether you want to laugh, want to watch a thriller action movie, or are in the mood to watch a spicy love story, everything comes under the same Bollywood platform.

But here now, the twist begins.

Our favorite Bollywood industry is failing due to a tragic boycott from the audience. Producers or directors are spending millions on filmmaking, and the output is not even half of its making price- keep aside the profit.

You can presume this because, in the top 10 films of 2022, only 3 are Hindi films, while the Telegu Tamil industry shakes the world with its brilliant and outstanding movies. It took decades for Bollywood to become a brand, but how can you imagine its worsening state?

Its flop movie count outnumbered the hit ones.

Yes, you heard it right. The industry has only a few blockbusting movies of 2022, like Kashmir Files’, ‘Gangubhai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, while low popular films seem countless, like Shamshera, Samrat Prithviraj, Laal Singh Chaddha, Raksha Bandhan, Radhe Shyam, Dhaakad, Jayesh Bhai Jordaar and still counting.

They are the perfect example that it does not matter how big your production house is; without quality products, all your investment will be gone.

Now let’s discuss some of the severe factors responsible for the Bollywood crackdown.

  1. An Era Of South Indian Movies

It is right to say that south Indian movies have overlooked the Bollywood industry. When Bollywood fails to meet the criteria of the audience, here comes the real boss.

Those times have gone when we mock south Indian movies because of their lousy concepts, irritating VFX, and fighting scenes, and now their low-budget films are ruling the Indian industry. The story starts in Bahubali and continues till now at KGF and Pushpa-like movies.

It is a lesson for everyone who keeps improving until the whole world starts praising you; the south Indian industry does the same. It adopts originality In concept, creating movies full of emotions, comedy, and quality acting.

They are fulfilling the need so the audience and, in return, get praise from them. They make mistakes and learn from them. Their success story also goes to the fantastic mentor in the Indian industry that teaches the young ones not to repeat past mistakes and keep on improving themselves.

  1. Slit Of Opinions: More Realistic Approach

With time, our audience gets mature. They know the difference between a graceless love story and an influential idea. Ultimately, we want the view from our audience, the waiting in their eyes for the upcoming films, but we need to meet their needs to be worthy of their praise.

Hollywood movies set high standards, and Indian people want the same ideas, concepts, and editing level in their regional films. If an error occurs and the movie does not fall o its criteria, that movie is set to be doomed.

Another concept is that Indian cinema follows Hollywood movies too much that they lose their original charm. The audience and filmmaker both should understand this thing that impresses but do not depress by others’ success.

Audiences should understand that it is impossible to wholly grasp Hollywood content due to regional, cultural, social, and economic differences. Appreciate the efforts of our filmmakers and see if they are progressing from their previous track down, then praise them.

Next, filmmakers also focus on improvement in their genre rather than copying others.

  1. Remake Versions

The significant fall of the Bollywood industry lies in the remake concept; everyone out there is passionate about remaking the old trendy movies or songs of the 1990s rather than creating original ones.

The audience waits for a year and gets to watch the remake story. It will automatically make them furious and lose interest.

Do you know where the problem lies?

Creating the same impact as an already-hit movie or song is always challenging. People have seen the best of it, and their minds are unwilling to accept its newer version.

They start the comparison, which is a plus point when you create original content. Because there is nothing from whom they will compare your content. Thus to raise the Bollywood industry, they should focus on originality rather than remaking.

  1. Nepotism: Boycott Bollywood

Boycott Bollywood, We all are aware of this thread. Well, this boycott starts after the suicidal death of Indian actor Sushant Singh Rajput. His fans began the campaign by implying that his death was due to nepotism.

Nepotism means the entry of star kids into the Bollywood industry, simply Favoritism to these kids. This concept is not new as Varun Dhawan tiger shroff Shraddha Kapoor and many renowned actors of his century are the results of nepotism.

But why does the boycott arise?

Audiences become mad when these star kids survive in the Bollywood industry without any acting talent. It means their acting does not please the audience, but they are still getting movie offers. What are the reasons?

The reason is they are star kids.

There is no problem with launching the next generation in the Bollywood industry, but they can get the first chance to debut. Their survival depends on their talents and audience response, not on their parents’ connection to the industry.

The actors I have said earlier, like Varun Dhawan shraddha, etc., get their first chance and avail it to its fullest. The viewers praise them because of their acting skills.

The audience demands fair competition between the new kids and the star kid. Because the struggle of actors in the industry polished their skills. Our legends are getting older, and now it’s time to hand over the drive to the next generation who are competitive enough to take this to the next level

  1. Illegal Scandals

We all know that it is the era of social media. Everything you do will be publicized, especially if you are a public figure. Even a 10-second video can build or ruin your image in public eyes.

People idolized their celebrities and wanted to become like them. But when something illegal happens and their favorite celebs are involved in them. It will shatter their trust in them. They start judging, hating, and inducing negative comments against them.

Do you know what is funny about these things?

Our viewers do not want to confirm these rumors and randomly believe in them. Our Bollywood industry is declining because many favorite actors seem to be involved in various illegal cases.

One thing I will add here is they have their own private life. They are your favorite celebs, but you should not be the judge of their life. We should respect their privacy and enjoy their acting skills in movies irrespective of what they are doing in their personal life.

Whether you should follow celebrities or not, read this article to find the answer.

  1. Ego Of Indian Actors

Some people suggest that the ego of Bollywood actors is giving them a hard time now as many actors refuse to work in a two-hero film. That insecurity of less screen coverage is the cause of Bollywood’s decline.

This thing is rare in the south Indian industry. They respect the script and focus on their actions rather than these trivial matters.

In the end, what we all want is a quality product from our favorite actors.

  1. Role Of Social Media Influencers

Nowadays, social media influencers decide whether it is a hit movie or a flop, as they will mention those insignificant errors in the film in viewers’ eyes. They exaggerate the mistakes and make the movie awful.

The ridiculous thing is that some even give spoilers in the light of pointing out mistakes in the movie. It will automatically make the audience reluctant to with it on the big screen.

It is a common scenario if you want your movie to be a hit, take good reviews from influencers, members, and analyzers as people make their decision depending on their comments.

  1. Impact Of Covid 19: Netflix Time

We are correct to say that covid 19 also has a role in declining the Bollywood industry. After quarantine, people feel uncomfortable in crowdy places and avoid it as much as possible. It has become a habit due to the pandemic that we feel safer in our house.

Moreover, the shutdown of cinemas in covid 19 shifts the big-screen audience toward Netflix. People enjoy web series either in Hindi or English at home.

It is reasonable as you can enjoy multiple shows within your comfort zone. Along with that trendy zone of Korean and Hollywood series depress the impact of the Bollywood industry. Our new generation makes it a trend.

Conclusion

The Bollywood industry should focus on these outcomings to regain its long-lost fame. They should focus on rectifying film-making errors to satisfy their audience’s needs.

The audience should also stop comparing Hollywood and Bollywood industries because it is unnecessary to gain success by copying others. Set your trend and make the world follow it.
