SEVEN TIPS FOR GLOWING UP IN SUMMER

Do you think you lose your facial beauty because of the scorching sun in summer?

If yes, this article will surely help you regain your long-lost glamour in summer.

There is a drastic change in climate all over the world. Due to global warming, there is approximately a 2C rise in temperature yearly. Glaciers are melting; floods are more often due to this. Depletion of the ozone layer also worsens the circumstances.

But how can we forget the drastic impact of ultraviolet radiation on the skin?

Our skin demands extra care and protection in summer. You must follow a proper skincare regime if you do not want a darker complexion, skin allergies, rashes, tanning, skin burns, and even skin cancer.

In my opinion, summer is all about enjoyment on the beach. While enjoying the cool breeze and sunbathing on the seaside, never forget to follow protective measures for your skin. Even when going to the tropical region and village areas, be sure to adopt a preventive skin measure.

IN WHAT WAY DOES SUMMER AFFECT YOUR SKIN

In summer, excess sebum is produced by our sebaceous gland, leading to oiliness, greasiness, and stickiness on the skin. Sebum protects our skin from harsh environmental conditions, but excess is also harmful.

Excess oil clogged the pores, and sebum and skin microbiota react with sweat, leading to acne.

Melanin is a hormone that protects our skin from ultraviolet radiation, but its overproduction in summer results in stubborn tanning all over the body.

SKINCARE REGIME IN SUMMER

  1. FACE WASH

While doing skincare, face wash is a critical step. Avoid using soaps on your face because the buttery leather will remove essential oils from your face, leading to dry, patchy, and flaky skin.

Adopt a suitable facewash according to your skin. Dry skin should go for a non-foaming cleanser and oily skin. For oily, a gentle oil control cleanser is good.

Face wash must be mild, alcohol-free, and not disturb your skin’s normal pH. Never wash your face twice, even if you have oily skin.

  1. ADOPT A SKINCARE ROUTINE

Follow a proper skincare routine even in summer. Avoid creamy products on the skin because they clog pores, and you will also feel a burden on your face.

You can adopt a three steps skincare regime

  • Cleansing

Most people opt for a double cleanser method to get clear skin. It is suitable for oily skin and when there is a need to remove heavy makeup from the skin.

The first cleanser is oil-based, and the second must be water-based to complete the cleansing process.

  • Toning

We manage to stop clogging our pores. But still, they can entrap oil or dirt in them. The best solution is to use a toner that minimizes your enlarged pores. Choose a mild and refreshing toner like cucumber or aloe vera-based toner in summer.

  • Moisturizing

In summer, most of us ditch the moisturizer as we feel there is enough oil on our skin to moisturize it. But it is a myth.

Your skin needs a moisturizer even in summer. As for oily skin, most dermatologists prefer an oil-free moisturizer and a mild moisturizer for dry skin.

  1. INCLUDE ANTIOXIDANTS IN YOUR SKINCARE

Antioxidants are scavengers; they protect our skin from radicals-induced damage, environmental damage, and hyperpigmentation due to skin.

Now it is your choice to take antioxidants in your diet or apply it in the form of serum on your skin. To gain the best result, adopt both methods.

VITAMIN C SERUM

Vitamin c serum is a source of antioxidants for the skin. It will hydrate your skin and promotes the synthesis of collage and works to enhance your skin structure.

Vitamin c serum will aid your skin in the following ways:

  • Help you to fight fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Protect your skin from the sun
  • Remove pigmentation from the skin and lighten up your skin tone
  • Help in skin tightening

DIETARY SOURCE OF ANTIOXIDANTS

Diet rich in antioxidants not only help you to glow up naturally but is also good for the proper functioning of the body.

Broccoli, spinach, carrots and potatoes, cabbage, beetroot, radish, lettuce, and sweet potatoes are all rich in antioxidants.

  1. HYDRATE YOUR SKIN

Water intake naturally brightens up your skin. In summers, try drinking 2-4 liters of water daily. You can also go for fresh juices in summer.

You can occasionally splash water on your skin to get a fresh look. Hydrating masks at night and mist at day are now commonly used for skin hydration.

Also, never forget about the moisturizer because moisturizer is the one that locks moisture in your skin and keeps your skin hydrated for a longer interval of time.

  1. NEVER FORGET THE SUNSCREEN

Sunblock is like a lifesaver for our skin. UV-A and UV-B radiation are ruining our skin. They are dangerous enough to induce skin cancer.

Skin-related problems are becoming common in the united states. Every one person out of 5 has skin cancer or eczema.

How can you avoid being that person?

Wear a sunscreen of SPF 30-50 at least 30 minutes before going out of the house. Also, adopt a method of reapplying. Reapplying your sunblock every 2 hours if you are constantly exposed to skin.

You can use travel-friendly sunblock sprays that are convenient to use.

  1. USE GOGGLES IN SUMMER

Along with skin, there is a need to protect the eyes in summer. Wear your goggles or shades when you step out of the house.

Also, use lip moisturizer to avoid flaky and chapped lips.

Protect your eyes with sunglasses and goggles. Use a lip balm for your skin

  1. AVOID HEAVY MAKEUP

In summers, avoid heavy makeup. Just go for a tint and a nude lipstick if it is compulsory to put on the makeup.

Never forget to remove your makeup before going to bed. If you do not do it, acne bursts and other skin problems can occur.

Use non-comedogenic makeup because it will not clog your pores.

CONCLUSION

In summer, we pay particular attention to our health, but have you ever thought about special protection for the skin. If not, then serious consequences may occur.

Adopt this method for healthier and fresh skin.

Lastly, skin is the same either for men and women. Most people only relate skin care to women. But men’s skin does need the same care as women’s.
