Pakistan’s 76th Independence Day: What have we done Till Now?

Happy Independence Day to all my readers! Yes, we have made it through 76 years.

Pakistan has survived till now and will continue to flourish in the future because of its people. Though we are going through a difficult time, it will also pass, and we will again be at the top of the world.

If we ponder we have done nothing for Pakistan, our elder’s endured great hardship to give us this beautiful land. A land full of natural resources; a land of freedom where we can practice our religion freely, where we have the right to travel freely, and where we can live a carefree life. They saved us from slavery, and now the progress and development of Pakistan are our duty.

In order to compete with the outside world, we need to change ourselves. As we all know, God helps those who help themselves. The change in us will bring an impactful next generation. If the mentors correct themselves, then the students will automatically follow the righteous path.

Thus, here are some of the changes I will mention that both you and I will follow for the betterment of our country:

  1. Respect Others

The first duty of every Pakistani is to respect their fellow citizens. Disputes occur, but instead of choosing violence, we should resolve our matter with patience and a calm attitude. Respect others choices; they are not meant to follow your directions. Everyone has their own life and makes decisions accordingly; instead of criticizing them, we should support them, or if times come when we need to correct them, be as polite as you can.

  1. Love your Country

Devotion to your country does not mean playing the horn or bugle all day and blocking the roads to celebrate Independence Day. Yes, we should celebrate Independence Day, but in the best possible way, like by following different campaigns. A campaign to clean the beaches is the best example. An oath to oneself to never litter the roads or avoid wrongdoing in every matter. That is what we called love and devotion to the country.

  1. Broaden Your Horizon

Advancement and improvement require thinking outside the box.

What I am trying to say is to stop judging those who are planning to go cross-country. Either it is for employment or educational purposes. Wherever we go, we will represent our country. Our nation’s flag will be raised when we make some progress in the international world.

Some people say: Why don’t you serve your country? Firstly, our country lacks opportunities for young minds, and it is not ready to leave the work to these fresh and creative minds. While the rest of the world is depending on their youth, we are stuck in our traditional norms. Thus, change your mindset to help our country. Our country should be our first priority, but to become experts, we should explore the world. Learning from the world and applying it in your country should be our goal.

  1. Follow Rules

Why do we follow rules?

Because if we do not follow them, we will be fined. Yes, that is our mentality, including mine. It needs to be changed. Follow rules, whether they are traffic rules, labour rules, administration rules, civil rules, etc., because they are meant to keep you and your surroundings safe. Their violation will land you in great trouble.

Let me explain with an example.

Why is there an age limit of 18 years to acquire your driving license?

Most of us learn to drive at around 15 to 16 years of age, so why do we have to wait? Because our minds are still immature and high on hormones, we feel it is our right to disobey the government and its rules; thus, in the end, we land ourselves in trouble, creating trouble for our families and other people who are involved. Thus, a rule is meant to keep you safe from any mishaps.

  1. Empower Women

Women play different roles in society. They, as mothers, are the mentors of our future generation; as sisters, they support their brothers; and as daughters, they are the pride of their father. We should make our women financially independent and give them respect in every sort of profession. Globally, we can see women working side by side with men in every field and doing their best. We should normalize women working in Pakistan as well.

Conclusion

Change is a slow process. I am not aiming for an overnight change in Pakistan; rather, I want to make it a more peaceful and developed place for our future generation. This can only be possible when we join hands and work together. Let’s aim together that we will take small steps towards betterment; do not rush the thing; keep it slow but remain steadfast on it.
