Writing Is an art; it is not a cup of tea for everyone. Being a good writer means having commendable writing skills.

But the main problem is how you will learn about these incredible skills. Hook with us till the end and discover excellent tips to upgrade your writing.

As a single line separate the boundary of two countries similarly, only a few points will convert your basic writing into a masterpiece.

Every writer has their journey and experience, so in this article, I am jotting down my article writing experience to provide you with some valuable points.

Why Is It Essential To Improve Your Writing Skills?

Well, I hear it from most people that:

“Oh, you are freelancer, so your writing skills should be good; I have no interest in writing, so why is there a need to improve it.”

Writing Is not only related to freelancing; it is equally important in your academic and practical life.

Without writing skills, do you think you can write a cover letter, business proposal, or even able to make your CV?

We are digitalizing, but writing is still the most necessary form to store information. Without it, never think of surviving in this crucial world.

We have inborn reading or speaking skills, but writing skills cannot be a blessing. The effort requires learning and polishing your skills.

A slight difference may present because of passion and interest in writing but remember; it only boosts their devotion toward learning.

No one is a born writer. His effort makes him commendable and impressive.

Tips to Compose A Good Piece Of Writing

As I said earlier, we know how to write, but that writing stands at the primary level. Basic level writing has less impact on its reader.

Here are some tips for everyone, especially beginner article writers who want to learn how to write a good article.

  1. Simplicity

While writing an article, keep it simple; the more precise your vocabulary, the easier for your reader to understand it.

It is the quality of the best writer to deliver complex things more straightforwardly. There is no point in writing if your target audience does not understand your content.

As a freelancer, my target audience is ordinary laypeople, so I prefer to write in a way that even a non-specialist in this field can grab the concept of my topic.

Upgrading your vocabulary is good, but where, why, and how to use these words are required.

In academic writing, our target audience is professionals in this field, so it allows me to use some technical words, but I prefer to keep it simple.

  1. Clarity And Coherence

To increase the article’s length, it is a common practice to stuff the articles with irrelevant information about the topic.

If there is no clarity in information in writing, it will only confuse the reader.

The purpose of writing Is to solve the person’s queries about that topic, but a lack of clarity of thoughts will leave that problem unsolved.

Coherence means there must be an arrangement of information in writing. A good article has a connection between paragraphs.

Ultimately, your aim should be to deliver the information through an article in a simple, organized, and related form.

  1. Must Comprise Of Short Sentences

When we are writing, our primary concern is to hook the audience until the end of the article.

If our readers stop reading mid-way, we fail to grab the reader’s interest in that writing.

Assume that you are reading a book comprised of long paragraphs. After reading for about 10 minutes, you seem to lose interest in that book.

Your brain will signal that it is a difficult book, and it is becoming difficult for it to process and store the information.

Lastly, you will stop reading the book. Get my point here the problem is not in words, vocabulary, clarity, or simplicity.

The problem lies in the length of sentences; that lengthy paragraph becomes the cause to lose your interest in writing.

That is why a good piece of writing comprises short sentences to maintain the reader’s attentiveness and make it easier for him to absorb the critical concept of writing.

  1. Critically Analysed (Well Researched)

Before we start writing the article, we prefer to grasp all the key points and information regarding the topic, which means researching the topic.

Most of us just read 4-5 articles related to that topic and rewrite them in their way. You have written a simple essay.

Whenever you pick an article, try to put that information in your article that is absent in others’ writing.

Your purpose is to educate the audience, not just finish the work because you will complete your work by this process, but improvement will be zero.

Now the question arises of how I can research the topic of my article. Here are a few ways to boost up your research.

  • Read Topic-related Top Articles

when you are reading it, note down the critical point of the topic and analyze what they miss in their writing, and I can add it.

Do not copy their style or wording because you will get accused of plagiarism; second, your article will have nothing new or different.

Read the article and write the essential points in your wording to avoid problems.

  • Use Researches Or Statistical Data In Your Writing

Whenever we write, our writing should answer the question of why.

What does it mean?

As I am saying, smoking is terrible. We should stop smoking. Yes, I am telling them to stop, but people ask me why we need to quit smoking.

Then I will state the statistical data, that is, the death ratio, for example, of smokers due to cancer; by doing that, I am making people believe in my writing.

If you are interested to know more about the hazard of smoking, read this article: Why Should We Exclude Tobacco From Society?

Moreover, research data proves that what you are saying is not hypothetical but already a fact by the scientist.

  • Take Help From Youtube Videos

I prefer this technique in the case when you are entirely unaware of your topic. Like when engineering students are writing an article on diabetes.

A simple trick is to search about your topic on YouTube in your native language and then understand its central concept.

Once you understand the whole idea, it will be more convenient for you to write about it.

  1. Adopt An Engaging Tone

For me, the essence of writing lies in the connection between the reader and the writer.

Whenever we read something, it is the reflection of the thoughts of the writer about that topic.

If we can relate to its writing, then we will call the article written in an engaging tone. In simple terms, the reader wants to continue reading the article until the end.

Now the main question is how you can achieve it. Here it goes:

Use a questionary tone, asking questions between articles and then answering them in the next paragraph.

Use your own story or any real-life story; quote it if it fits in the article.

Adopt a storytelling way to write engaging content.

  1. Write An Attractive Title

This technique is highly applicable if you are writing blogs on google. At that point, we require most that despite all the articles, reader click on your blog post.

How is it possible?

The reader cannot read your content at that point; he has access to your primary title or heading of the article.

If we keep it eye-catching and write it more persuasively, it will attract the reader to our website and content.

Remember that these above techniques apply only to the reader when he reads your blog post, so an impressive title is necessary.

Add power words, inspirational words, and anything that will intrigue the reader that, yes, I should check this article.

Not for a blog post but also in other writing, the title is essential because it reflects your entire content’s main idea.

Conclusion

Practice makes a man perfect.

You will not learn all these things in a single day; it requires daily practice with devotion and hard work.

I will never call myself an expert because it somehow deprives me of getting positive criticism from my readers and affect my improvement.

So never burden yourself to learn all these things in a single go, be consistent in your practice, and soon you will ace it.
